Write to the editors
The editors read every message sent through the form on this page or by email to info@dienbientourism.com. We reply by email when a message needs an answer.
How to reach us
Use the form below, or write to info@dienbientourism.com. That is the only address for the guide. We do not publish a phone number and do not take calls or chat messages, because a written message lets us check a report against its source before we reply.
What to write to us about
Corrections
Corrections are the messages we value most. Opening hours at the battlefield sites, fees, bus times and border rules change, and readers who have just been there are often the first to know. A useful correction answers four questions:
- Which page, and which sentence or table row?
- What did you find instead?
- When? The date matters, because rules and timetables change.
- How do you know? A link to an official notice, a photo of a sign, or what happened to you on the day.
Questions about a page
If something on a page is unclear, ask. When several readers ask the same question, it means the page needs rewriting, and we will do that. We cannot plan individual trips, but we can often point to the section or official source that answers your question.
Advertising enquiries
Businesses can enquire about advertising. Ads appear only in spaces labelled "Advertisement", separate from the editorial text, and buying advertising has no effect on what the guide says. We do not sell sponsored articles, links in the text, or mentions.
What we cannot help with
- Booking tours, transport, hotels or tickets. The guide does not sell or arrange travel.
- Visa applications for Vietnam or Laos. Use the official portals or an embassy.
- Live road or border conditions. Ask your accommodation in Dien Bien Phu or check local news.
- Emergencies. If you are in difficulty, contact the local emergency services and your embassy.
If you are unsure whether your question fits, send it anyway. A question we cannot answer yet tells us what readers need, and it is often how a new section of the guide begins.
How replies work
Messages from the form reach the editors directly. If your message needs an answer, we reply by email to the address you give. If it is a correction, we check it against a source first; once it is confirmed, you will see the change on the page and in the corrections log on the about page. Checking can take longer than a reply, especially when a source is in Vietnamese or a rule needs confirming with an authority.
We do not publish your name or your message. A correction we use is credited to "a reader" unless you ask to be named. The privacy page explains which details the form collects and how long we keep them.
Before you write
Look at the checked date under the section you are writing about. If the date is recent and your information is older, the page may already reflect a change. If the official source linked there says something different from the page, that is exactly the kind of report we want.
For rules that depend on your nationality, the official sources are faster than we are: the Vietnamese e-visa portal and the Lao eVisa portal list eligible countries, fees and ports, and your own foreign ministry's travel advice covers entry requirements for your passport.
For the battlefield sites, the provincial relics management board publishes changes to opening hours, as it did in March 2026. For flights, the airlines' own route pages carry the current schedule. If you tell us that one of these has changed, include the link and the date you saw it.
Writing in other languages
The guide is published in English, and replies come in English. You are welcome to write in French or Vietnamese if that is easier for you; we will read your message, though a reply may take longer.
Common questions
Questions readers ask
Can I phone the editors?
No phone number is published. Write through the form or by email; replies come by email.
Will you publish my name if I send a correction?
Not unless you ask. Corrections are credited to "a reader" by default.
Can you book a tour or a bus for me?
No. The guide does not sell or arrange travel and does not recommend companies.
